The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV / COVID-19) is spreading over the world. Currently (March 2020) attempts are being made to contain the virus. In the meantime, a vaccine against this new virus is being developed.
The Cape Verdean government has taken a number of measures in response to the spread of the coronavirus. Protection measures are taken at international airports, including temperature investigations. The Cape Verde government has set up a free helpline that you can call if you would like more information about the virus: +238 (0) 800-1112 (Portuguese only). There is also a special website from the Cape Verdean government with more detailled information and the latest updates about the virus: Covis19.cv (Portuguese only).
Update 01.06.2020: from July 2020 there are, according to the airlines, return flights to and from Cape Verde. Just like everywhere else in the world, the safety rules (e.g. social distance) remain valid.
