The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV / COVID-19) is spreading over the world. Currently (March 2020) attempts are being made to contain the virus. In the meantime, a vaccine against this new virus is being developed.
The Cape Verdean government has taken a number of measures in response to the spread of the coronavirus. Protection measures are taken at international airports, including temperature investigations. The Cape Verde government has set up a free helpline that you can call if you would like more information about the virus: +238 (0) 800-1112 (Portuguese only). There is also a special website from the Cape Verdean government with more detailled information and the latest updates about the virus: Covis19.cv (Portuguese only).
Update September 2021: return flights to Cape Verde have started again. The same applies for domestic flights. EU passengers need a EU COVID-19 certificate to travel freely without testing.
