Hi, how’s the best way to great a person you have not met before, in Cape verde, both male and female?

      Hello Alan,

You good start saying:’good morning’ (Bom dia), ‘good afternoon’ (Boa tarde), ‘good evening’ (Boa noite), ‘hello’ (Ola). Depending on the situation you could also follow up this by ‘how are u’ (como estas or tudo bem).

You can mix another to make it more informal: Ola, bom dia (hello, goodmorning).

      Best,
      Team CapeVerdeIslands.org

      Hi Robin,

      In Portuguese it is:
      – Please > Por favor
      – Thank you > Obrigado / Obrigada (depending on the gender you talking with)
      – Sorry > Desculpa

      Hope this helps.

      Best,
